If you are looking for a typical small Zanzibarian setting, which allows you to relax and enjoy the wonderful island, you will find it here at our resort. The beautiful snow-white sandy beaches, the numerous coconut trees and the turquoise-blue Indian Ocean will create a feeling of paradise.
We are located on the east coast of Zanzibar in Pongwe, just 45 km away from Stone Town.
We have single and double rooms! All our rooms are equipped with fans, mosquito nets and bathrooms with hot water.
ZANZIBAR - The name alone awakens romantic feelings.
This tropical island in the Indian Ocean lies approximately 60 km off the coast of Tanzania. It unites the charm of the South Sea with the exotic Muslim culture and most of the local people make their living from spice cultivation. Here, time stands still and this entices both visitors seeking the numerous palm-lined paradise beaches and those interested in the world cultural heritage of Stone Town.
And not to be forgotten: Zanzibar’s most famous son, Freddy Mercury, was born in Stone Town on the 5th of September, 1946.
BAR & RESTAURANT
In our local bar we serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks and cocktails. Our specialities are fresh juices like mango, pineapple and passion fruit.
Please enjoy our delicious menu in our restaurant, especially barbecue fish, crabs or lobster.
SIGHTSEEING
Zanzibar has many other nice places to visit. It would be a pleasure to arrange and organize day-trips and tours for you.
Fishing, Snorkeling and Diving
The fantastic coral reefs of Zanzibar are ideal for snorkeling and diving. They are still undiscovered dive sites with an extraordinary reef-life of colourful coral gardens and fish of all shapes and sizes, unique in all the world. It is also possible to rent a local fishing boat in Pongwe Village for a memorable fishing or snorkeling trip.
Jozani Forest
Jozani Forest is located about 35 km south-east of Stone Town. It is a conservation project aimed at preserving some of the last indigenous forests on the island. It is the home to the rare “Red Colobus” monkeys, which are found only on Zanzibar.
Prison Island
Prison Island is one of the nearest islands to Stone Town, just 15-20 minutes by boat. Formerly a treatment centre for people who were diseased with leprosy, it is now the home of giant tortoises imported from the Seychelles in the late 19th century. Prison Island has also a remarkable coral reef ideal for snorkeling.
Spice Tour
A spice tour is probably the best way of seeing the countryside around Stone Town. It will give you an in-depth lesson on spices grown on the island, such as cloves, nutmeg, cardamon, pepper, ginger, chilies or vanilla, including their uses in cooking, cosmetics and traditional medicine.
Stone Town
The capital of Zanzibar is also called Unguja Town or Zanzibar Town.
Stone Town’s labyrinth of narrow streets was declared to UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000 and was praised by UNESCO as "an outstanding material manifestation of cultural fusion and harmonization".
You can visit some of the most interesting attractions including Livingstone’s House, Darajani Market, Palace Museum, House of Wonder, Old Fort or Culture Centre (Old Dispensary).
